The new specific shape aerosol reinforces the brand attractiveness and ensures a good catch in hands
The KING Tyre repair wins a packaging award

SICO has carried out a brand new aerosol packaging when launching the new reformulated version of the KING tyre repair product. Its now compatible with all tyres should they be scooters, motorbikes, cars, 4WD (SICO formulae).

The design studio has issued an artwork that reproduces 2 3D lines of tyre on the top and bottom of the can. Consumer is hence aware of the product destination. Moreover, a 3D pressure gauge on the front side shows a remarkable shape.

The shape of the can makes it hold firm in the hand and using it is made easier too. Added to this, the new innovating, ergonomically designed injection system offers significant improvements in comparison to soft tubes, especially in terms of simplified conditions of use. An inner rubber joint inside the injector ensures perfect sealing. The operation is made easier with the 45° slope of the tube. SICO has deposited a patent for this diffusion system which was entirely designed by SICO.

This eye catching can is carried out with a high pressure air blowing, a patented technology which ensures both can and product integrity. This process requires no tool or liquid inside the can, hence avoiding metal or varnished wear. As opposed to other shaping techniques, such as mechanical expansion or high pressure water stream expansion, shape blowing also keeps a better surface aspect and a better shining aspect of the packaging.

The shaping process consists of putting pre-shapes (the cylinder tins to be shaped) in the high precision mould in order to create specific shapes. High air pressure enables metal to take the shape of the mould. When expansion is done, the specific shape is packaged for shipping to the filling company.

The distribution of the reformulated version will begin in December 2004 in France, and will be followed by a wider launching in other European countries during the first semester 2005.

This innovating product has wun the 2004 Packaging Award in the Non-food consumer category. The award ceremony took place in Paris, on Nov 22nd, 2004.
